Outdoor advertising that is useful? Yes, it's possible...
With the amount of rain we had in the last couple of weeks I would have wished for a shelter every now and again. And stairs can be very annoying when you have a suitcase in tow. I never thought outdoor advertising could help with that...
IBM, in partnership with Ogilvy & Mather France, have launched a couple of outdoor ads that double as a kind of 'urban furniture' for their "People For Smarter Cities Project". With this project IBM wants to encourage city leaders and forward-thinking citizens to work together on how to make their cities and neighbourhoods 'smarter' and better. To spread the word they have created this outdoor advertising with a purpose.
As the film below explains, something like a simple curve can turn a billboard into something with an additional use.
