Well, things have been busy in the Mako offices! As well as numerous branding projects, brochure & leaflet designs and newsletters we have been working on Christmas and Wedding brochure designs and even some owl illustrations - Phew! All in a (few) days work for Mako.
On top of all this, we have even managed time to redesign and produce the artwork for Essentials Mag (formerly known as essentiallyours) as well. This is a 56 pg A5 local lifestyle magazine for Rossett & surrounding areas and also a 40pg edition for Bangor on Dee & the surrounding areas, produced every month and delivered free to over 6000 homes.
We have designed a new layout with a fresh modern approach but not so far as to make it unrecognisable, evolution not revolution! We are also responsible for some editorial sections and it's great fun (well, at least Ellen tells me it is) to search for interesting images to accompany the text.
On some occasions we also send out our intrepid photographer (Ellen again) to capture those lovely local shots or images that we need, and even Dave likes to get in on the act visiting Bangor on Dee early one morning, (but I think secretly he is just scouting for places to swim for his Triathlon training).
We think the magazine looks great and are very proud of it and have had some fantastic feedback. Most advertisers supply their own adverts but we have redesigned quite a few of them, making them look more appealing for potential customers, so it's a win win all round!
